To experience real community, you must do these things:

1. Understand that you live in a jungle and are surrounded by hostiles who want to eat you (pick your grapes, slaughter your children).
2. Understand that you are wandering alone in that jungle, that you are not a part of any village.
3. Understand that the many fake villages that you see are actually traps designed to capture you.
4. Understand how to distinguish a real village from a fake trap village.
5. Understand that a real village is a coalition defined by a "way of life" comprised of gender and other roles, moral rules, rituals, traditions, and shared beliefs.
6. Understand that to win at the game of life presented by the jungle, the people of a village must fill their roles and perform their duties faithfully, with courage, focused on winning as a community rather than as individuals.
7. Find such communities and seek information about each of them.
8. Present yourself, asking to be accepted into the village.
