There is an additional cost to maintaining a subscription.

Subscriptions that are suspected of being abused will be terminated. For example, during an attack, if there is evidence that a small set of subscriptions contains the subscription that is being abused by the attacker, all subscriptions in that set will be terminated. The servers do get attacked, and this scenario does happen, so every subscriber should expect to pay full price for a replacement subscription occasionally. This is just a part of your cost of maintaining access.
